AquaGym Swim Club provides a competitive training programme for swimmers who have graduated from Learn to Swim and Junior Development programmes, who are ready to focus on our successful competitive programme.

We have an exciting opportunity for a dynamic Assistant Coach to work with the Head Coach to provide professional, effective and safe coaching of club members ensuring that the club’s objectives are attained which include competitive success, membership growth, enjoyment and a positive team culture.

The Assistant Coach will be responsible for the effective coaching of club swimmers as directed by the Head Coach, provision of a dry land programme for club swimmers as directed and attendance at targeted swimming competitions throughout the swimming calendar.

We are looking for someone with the following qualifications and skills;
 -Assistant Coach Award qualification or the willingness to undertake training to achieve this qualification
 -A First Aid Certificate
 -A Pool Lifeguard Certificate
 -Knowledge of Dryland Training techniques and Programmes or the willingness to undertake training to achieve this knowledge
 -Ability to work in a team environment
 -Strong communication and organizational skills
 -Interest and ability to work with children and young people
 -Ability to work with swimmers preparing for Junior Festival Makos, Division 2 Nationals and South Island Country and Town Competition
 -Independent self-management skills
