Appointments, Awards and Farewells

Thank you to all those who attended the 2020 Swimming Canterbury West Coast AGM via Zoom on Wednesday evening.

The meeting saw SCWC Board Chair, Chris Ponga and Board member Kim Berquist retire by rotation, and Board members Scott Wagenvoord and Nicky Edwards stepping down from the Board. A huge thank you to Chris, Scott and Nicky for their hard work on behalf of the region, you will be missed.

As a result of voting held for the two vacated Elected Member of the Board positions, we welcome Steve Kelliher and welcome back Kim Berquist to the SCWC Board.

We also welcome the two new members of the SCWC Board selected by the SCWC Appointments Panel are Rhys Pryde-Wall and Holly Cassin.

Jo Russell and Helen Tait both retired by rotation from the SCWC Technical Committee and we thank them both for their immense contribution to the SCWC region. We welcome Christine Cassin and Glenys McKenzie, who join existing Committee members Terry O’Sullivan, Stuart Challenger, Alison Collister and Simon Moore.

The SCWC Events Committee members remain as Fiona Campbell, Martin Russell, Nicola Catchpole, Jeanette Wright, Christine Cassin and David Prattley.

The SCWC Awards Committee members remain as Janice Rennell, Monique Van Vugt, Jill Perriam and Brigitte Mahan.

The conclusion of the AGM saw the presentation of this year’s SCWC Service Awards. A massive CONGRATULATIONS to the following Service Award recipients, please know that your contribution to the success of swimming in our region is truly valued and appreciated:
